DUBAI, UAE--As part of its Electric Vehicle Green Charging Initiative launched in 2014, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has signed several agreements and contracts to expand Dubai's electric vehicle (EV) charging network. DEWA signed the contracts and agreements with Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC), Dubai Taxi, and Parkin Company.
H.E. Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of DEWA, said: “Working with government and private sector partners, we are promoting green mobility in Dubai by building and improving an integrated electric vehicle charging infrastructure. This initiative will help reduce carbon emissions and contribute to achieving the goals of the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050, Dubai Net Zero Carbon Strategy 2050, and Dubai Green Mobility Strategy. We will continue to work with partners across various sectors to lay the foundation for a sustainable green economy, fulfilling the vision of our wise leadership and enhancing Dubai's global competitiveness.”
ENOC
DEWA signed a contract with Enoc Group to expand the electric vehicle (EV) fast-charging network at ENOC service stations across Dubai. The initiative aims to improve infrastructure to meet the growing demand for electric vehicles.
Dubai Taxi
DEWA has signed a long-term strategic contract with Dubai Taxi Company (DTC) to deploy ultra-fast electric vehicle (EV) charging stations across DTC's fleet. The project will roll out 208 ultra-fast EV charging stations in phases over the contract period, aligning with DTC's fleet transformation roadmap and Dubai's sustainability vision.
Parkin
DEWA has signed a strategic contract with Parkin Company to transform Dubai's public EV charging network, further solidifying the emirate's global position as a leading hub for green and sustainable mobility. The first phase of the contract will see the installation of 100 EV charging stations in key areas across Dubai, including residential communities, shopping malls, leisure venues, and public areas. A larger rollout will be implemented in the near future to cover more areas across the emirate. These charging stations will provide greater flexibility and accelerate the adoption of EVs.
Through its Green Charging for Electric Vehicles initiative, DEWA has partnered with public and private sector partners to deploy over 1,500 charging points across Dubai.
