However, the latest reports from foreign media indicate that Tesla—despite the substantial year-over-year sales declines witnessed in Europe during multiple months of last year—delivered a strong performance in February of this year, recording significant year-over-year growth across numerous markets.
Citing data from relevant agencies, foreign media reported that across 15 major European markets—including France, Germany, the UK, Spain, and Italy—a total of 17,425 new Tesla electric vehicles were registered in February. This figure exceeds the 15,775 registrations recorded during the same period last year—marking a 10% year-over-year increase—and represents a doubling of the 8,026 registrations recorded in January.
Among these 15 key nations, France saw a 55% year-over-year increase, Germany rose by 59%, Spain by 74%, and the UK by 37%, while Portugal recorded the highest growth rate, surging by 112%.
Nevertheless, because the 8,026 new registrations recorded across these 15 countries in January fell short of the 9,699 registrations from the same month last year, Tesla's cumulative registrations in these markets for the first two months of this year—totaling 25,451 vehicles—still lagged behind the 25,474 registrations recorded during the corresponding period last year, representing a slight decline.
