Volvo Car India has marked a significant achievement in its pursuit of sustainable mobility by successfully delivering 100 all-electric vehicles in the state of Kerala.
The city of Ernakulum saw 39 of these deliveries, establishing itself as the largest market for Volvo's electric vehicles (EVs) in the state. The deliveries comprised 82 units of the XC40 Recharge, Volvo's initial all-electric offering, and 18 units of the C40 Recharge.

While XC40 Recharge deliveries commenced in November 2022, the C40 Recharge began reaching customers in mid-September 2023. Expressing satisfaction with this milestone, Mr. Jyoti Malhotra, Managing Director of Volvo Car India, emphasized Kerala's significance as a key market for the company.
He noted the positive response to their EVs, highlighting the readiness of Kerala's discerning customers to embrace innovative technologies. Mr. Malhotra reiterated Volvo's commitment to introducing a new EV model annually, ensuring Kerala customers experience the latest advancements in sustainable mobility.
Mr. R Krishnakumar, CEO of Kerala Volvo, expressed pride in being partners in Volvo's journey toward sustainable mobility. He credited the trust and enthusiasm of customers for reaching the milestone of 100 all-electric vehicles in Kerala.
